Project Overview
A rural property required the installation of a 50mm electric cable to connect a residential home to a nearby dairy. The most direct route was beneath a concrete holding pen that was actively used to manage dairy cattle. Given the operational needs of the farm, open trenching through this area was not viable.

Challenges & Solutions
- Access Constraints: The concrete holding pen was essential for twice-daily milking operations, and any disturbance would disrupt the farm’s routine.
- Non-Disruptive Drilling: HDD was selected to avoid surface disruption. The drill path was carefully planned to enter just outside the holding pen and exit on the opposite side near the house.
- Precision Drilling: Using a tracking system, the bore was precisely navigated beneath the slab without damage to existing infrastructure or risk to livestock.
Outcome
The electric cable was successfully installed with zero disruption to dairy operations. The HDD approach allowed for a clean, fast, and efficient installation beneath an active agricultural facility.
